Joe Walsh - But Seriously, Folks... LP - Asylum VG+ TEST PRESS
This is an exceptional early test pressing of Joe Walsh’s classic 1978 album and a very unusual variation for the serious collector.
Unlike the later commercial release, the photos and song information are individually taped to the album cover, rather than incorporated into the finished album artwork. Later versions also included a hype sticker. This appears to represent an early pre-production/test pressing configuration before the final retail packaging was produced.
Cover: VG
The cover displays some normal yellowing from age and a small crease at the upper-right corner. Otherwise, it presents extremely well, with no significant peeling, tears, or other major flaws. Please review the photos carefully for condition.
Original Inner Sleeve: G
The original record sleeve has a split along one side and a partial split on the other, but it remains intact and still holds the record.
Vinyl: VG+ to VG++
The record itself is in remarkable condition. It shows so little evidence of use that it may have been played very few times, if at all. The vinyl is exceptionally clean, with beautiful, deep black surfaces and very little visible wear.
I reserve NM/Mint grading for records that are essentially untouched or, in the case of Mint, generally unopened, so I am conservatively grading this example VG+ to VG++.
A beautiful and unusual early pressing of a classic Joe Walsh album that would make an outstanding addition to a serious Joe Walsh, Eagles, or classic-rock vinyl collection.
