Description
Recorded on August 17, 1934, a seldom-seen Joe Venuti Orchestra record from the tail-end of the Okeh label. The label was resurrected in 1940. Selections are "Fiddlesticks" by Will Hudson and a very fun "Goblin Market" composed by Spud Murphy. "Goblin" sounds like one of those Fleischer cartoons from the period whenever they introduced ghosts or skeletons into Betty Boop's life. It even has a brass bass! It also has great piano, tenor sax and trombone solos besides Venuti's contribution. "Fiddlesticks" is Venuti's all the way.
