CHARACTERISTICS OF DISK & COVER: (1) Japan King Record  Quality vinyl pressing of  Joe Farrell "Outback", (2)CTI original yellow label design used, (3) original front cover photo & inside photos used (the Japanese edition of Farrell's "Outback" was first released as a gatefold LP of USA original in 1972. This listed LP is the 1978 second edition released as a single pocket LP with the original inside photos printed on the one side of a paper insert including the Japanese liner notes & CTI LP picture catalog.Rare), (4) the paper insert attached, (5) disk weight app. 130g; thin cardboard cover weight app. 80g, (6) OBI attached

DISK CONDITION: VG++ (very lustrous and clean vinyl; conspicuous <but not so many>spindle hole marks on both side labels of clean nature, but, according to full playing test, its reproduced sound is great because there's almost no noise except for minimal background static noise in only some places)

COVER CONDITION: VG+(spine wear on especially top & bottom section; a faint <not conspicuous> partial ring wear; app. 5cm dent on the back cover and mini dents in places; the cover inside white area is partially yellowish; However, considering this item cover is a thin cardboard cover, those conditions must be regarded as nice)

OBI CONDITION: VG+(folding mark around its center; two mini tears along the folding line; discoloration on the top)

PAPER INSERT CONDITION: VG+ ( some mini crinkles or stains dotted in places)

ANTISTATIC PLASTIC INNER SLEEVE CONDITION: VG(crinkly)

ADDITIONAL NOTES: This "Outback" partially led to Chick Corea's 1972 RTF (Return To Forever) released by ECM because both album share some common musicians and musical concepts. However,while 1972 ECM work kept Chick's direction & arrangement, this "Outback" gives us truly ear-friendly CTI sounds produced by mainly Joe Farrell's flute and soprano, but is also strongly characterized by musicians' improvisatory abilities or bop tastes (shown typically by November 68th where Joe blows tenor and Elvin's beat is strong, or by Buster's strong & technically clingy bass line).
