This is the MONO pressing of the iconic Latin Soul record RIOT! by the King of Latin Soul, Joe Bataan.
Bataan's influence on Latin Music, Soul, Salsoul (his song was what the record label was named after) cannot be underestimated - Spanning styles including Boogaloo, Sals, Cha-cha and Bolero, this album is a true classic.
Presented here as the MONO UK version on London records of the Fania original, it is not only a rare album, but in this condition practically unseen.
Condition: Sleeve: Very Good - (VG-) The laminate is sharp, and the colours are bright, with little wear from abuse. However there are a number of creases which pull it down from VG/ Ex condition. Vinyl: Near Mint (NM) Vinyl is ALMOST mint, looking pretty much new & unplayed, however there are a couple of spindle marks on the label which shows it has at least sen a record deck more than once.
Again it cannot be stressed enough that the condition of the vinyl here is exceptionally clean.

Joe Bataan: When we came across the song “Riot!” it was the first chance that I had to perform, really perform, on stage. And you gotta understand, the kids I had in the band at that time, they didn’t know their left foot from their right. You had to see what went into developing each and every one of those guys in their own particular section: on how to dance, how to be personable, how to dress, and how to capture the audience. Kids didn’t have the confidence until they finally saw it with the audience, and that was true with me. You never know what you can do until the audience accepts you, and we were getting this kind of reception that was tremendous; it made us feel that we could do anything on stage.
