Description
Jimmy Scott is one of those great artists who literally becomes the song he's singing. He completly gets inside the lyrics & makes them come alive like no other singer. Praised by other singers from Nancy Wilson ("There would be no Nancy Wilson if there was no Jimmy Scott"), to Madonna ("The only singer that made me cry") to Lou Reed ("I hope he keeps singing until there isn't another song to sing"). His artisrty is matchless. This 2 LP set was recorded by the then 75 years old Scott in 2000 in New York & the resulting album has become an instant classic both in the jazz & audio worlds. Matched with a great recording this is one of those happy cases where an album can be enjoyed as pure music of the highest order as well as great sounding recording that brings the full spectrum of emotions Scott can summon direct to your heart. Absolutely wonderful music making & sound. Mint condition in all aspects.
