ARTIST: Jimmy Heath

TITLE: Love and Understanding

LABEL: Muse Records MR - 5028, 1973 US Pressing

CONDITION: VG+/NM-

SLEEVE: VG+, this is borderline NM, only downgraded due to aging on back cover. Excellent spine, no writing, splits or tears. Minor corner wear.

RECORD: NM-, there is one thin visible scuff that runs through all of the tracks on side 1 but does not affect play, it is silent. I play graded the entire record and playback is excellent, loud and strong. Perfect labels.

COMMENTS: Another killer Muse session! Heath is one of the great sax players, heard here on soprano, tenor, and flute. He played in so many great bands in several decades, we only lost him in 2020. Given the length of his career and size of his talent he didn't make a lot of records as a leader. This was his first session for Muse and he assembled a top notch band including Curtis Fuller (trombone), Stanley Cowell (piano, electric piano), Bob Cranshaw (bass), Billy Higgins (drums), and Bernard Fennell on cello! Getting increasingly rare and expensive, don't miss out on this excellent copy!
