Description
Elektra EKL-303 (mono), “Maxwell Street” with Jimmy Davis, guitar and vocals; from 1965. The original guitar-player label vinyl plays at VG+ with light background sound, not enough to overpower the music. The jacket is about VG+ with solid seams all around, come corner wear, a corner bump upper left that has slightly buckled the laminate, and a “Review Copy” stamp at top on the back. The jacket back is basically clean with no writing. This LP is Elektra’s only bow to original blues soloists, as Jimmy Davis was recorded in the Stockyards area of Chicago. Songs are “What More Can a Good Man Do”, “Two Trains Running”, “Long-Haired Darling”, “My Baby Changed the Lock on the Door”, “Drifting from Door to Door”. “I Got My Eyes on You”, “Me and My Telephone”, “Dust My Broom”, “She’s My Babe”, “Alberta”, “Baby Please Don’t Go”, and “Drifting Blues”. Liner notes by Pete Welding. Shipping is $4.00 media mail, $8.00 priority mail within the continental U.S.; $20.00 regular airmail to the U.K., Europe, Japan, Korea, and Australia; elsewhere inquire. Additional LPs in a single package are $1.00 per LP domestic, $2.00 elsewhere. For overseas shipments, I strongly recommend registered mail for $12.00 extra. Many old records are now practically antiques and should be treated that way. This LP will be packaged with the record inside an inner sleeve but outside the jacket; both are placed inside a sealed outer sleeve and shipped inside a special oversized handcrafted mailer with padding on all sides. It is designed thick enough not to be caught in a postal conveyor belt and strong enough to withstand a drop from a second-story window with no damage to LP or jacket. More than two LPs may be mailed together in a heavy Bags Unlimited pizza-style box. Your LP should arrive in the same condition as on the day it was shipped. All used LPs are play-graded on a VPI turntable with Audioquest tonearm and Grado cartridge.
