Description
I was recently handed a small Jimi Hendrix collection to disperse, and have pulled some of the rarities out for your consideration.
This album has been cleaned with a VPI vacuum record cleaning machine using Nitty Gritty solution. It was then played completely on a system based on Mark Levinson and McIntosh electronics on a Technics SL 1500 turntable with a $200 Grado cartridge, through new Magnaplanar speakers, looking for skips or pops, or noise that overpowers the recording. Then it was graded conservatively by an expert using the Goldmine system chart at http://www.dtmagazine.com/lpgrades.html as a guide. After grading each disc was placed in a new audiophile quality fully lined sleeve and the cover was protected by a new clear plastic envelope. You can buy this album with full confidence that the description is accurate.
This particular album is a later version of Trade Mark of Quality JH 549, titled Good Karma 2. This was the recording of a concert at the Berkely Community Theatre on May 30, 1970. The labels have side 1 and 2 in smaller type, and the disc itself is in black vinyl. It is one of many bootlegs issued after his death in an attempt to capitalize on his passing. This one appears to have been done around 1973, if you can trust the garbled and confusing cover art, which passes for liner notes. The back cover is empty.
My rater’s notes on this one say the record is VG++, in excellent shape. The cover is only VG, with ring wear on the back and feathered edges, and the seam on top is starting to come apart.
