Description

This is from my own collection I am not a dealer, in the next few months I am selling off part of my collection, some rarities and collectable, no filler! Thanks for looking!

The record is graded as Very Good Condition+

The ever popular Jimi Hendrix smash hits original from 1968 first Mono A1 B1 wow! pressing on UK Track Records black label , Purple Haze, Hey Joe, Stone Free, Foxy Lady, The Wind cries Mary, all are here ..... the earliest possible matrixes on this one.

This is now the best and only reliable place to get the original "Mono Mixes" on the Iconic "Black Track" label of these 6 great tunes!

 1)"The of Wind cry's Mary"
2)"Can you see me"
3) " 51 st Anniversary"
4) "Stars that play with laughing Sams dice"
5)"Hey Joe"
6 " Burning of the midnight lamp"
7) "Highway Chile"
8" Stone Free"

enough reason on its own... and way better quality than the US presses in our view.....

This was rolled out fast in 1968 following the release of "Are you Experienced" and "Axis Bold as Love" the singles "Wind Cries Mary" " Hey Joe" and "Purple Haze" were not included in the UK versions of the Debut "Are You Expeienced" Album so responding to requests Chas Chandler gave Jimis fans what they wanted...

"Smash Hits" 1968 MONO is a great one to partner "Are You Experienced" and you get the vibe of 67/68 in swinging London where these were recorded, Jimi was playing most nights and recording in London whenever he could., this is the legacy...  this is exactly how Jimi wanted it to sound.

If you want a vinyl collectable that you can play and enjoy this is for you....

The great running order chose by Jimi and Chaz Chandler for the UK market means never a dull moment, great cover nuff said...

The record A1 B1 Mono

We would grade this as very good condition + on most of this record, some pops and clicks at the start of Wind Cry's Mary are evident, some surface scratches and hairlines, sleeve scuffs removal lines and hairlines (this is a 49 year old!) we never use mint on a record of this age. sound amazing in glorious MONO
the audio plays through well with no jumps or skips.

Please dont buy this if you are looking for a "perfect" see other listings, this is a 49 year old survivor.

The first two albums were recorded 67/68 for MONO and the engineers knew what they were doing, later in 68 came the stereo versions which have some clever sound affects and panning but our favourite is the MONO Jimi had his ear in here well and truly and knew what he wanted.

This has not been cleaned a professional clean could help, this is individual so we don't do it! There is some static in quieter places....

This is on A1 B1 matrixes placing it near the start close to the masters. This is the first press, we have not seen earlier  versions and the audio on this one is outstanding and really punchy on our Rega 3 no skips or jumps and only a some clicks and static in some places.

The cover

VGC+ with some light laminate creases and some ring wear to rear from its 48 years (see photos)
some removal soiling on the rear matt white cover 48years or in and out!
No rips tears tape writing or sticky labels all good.
