I do not sell copies. I am an honest dealer with good feedback and describe my listings as accurately as possible. If you have any enquiries about my listings, please contact me. Some feedback suggests my gradings are too low but I prefer to be a little strict rather than exaggerate!

THE JIMI HENDRIX EXPERIENCE - ELECTRIC LADYLAND. 1968 TRACK 613008/9. 2LPs WITH LAMINATED GATEFOLD SLEEVE w. BLUE SCRIPT. FIRST PRESS. STEREO. VG+ SLEEVE, VG+ VINYL. TEST PLAYED. MATRIXES: SIDE A - 613008//8A//1121, SIDE D - 61300//8B//11210, SIDE B - 61300#9AB//11, SIDE C - 613009 B### 112

SLEEVE:
This first pressing was made in 1968 and has the coveted blue printing inside the left of the gatefold cover bearing the infamous ladies which was eventually banned. (Don't buy if this offends you!) The Laminated Gatefold sleeve is in VG condition for its age. It has slight wear to the edges. The title and artist edge is more worn.There are no stuck on labels or stickers obviously removed and the sleeve is clean and shiny on the laminate inside and out . The black and white and colour photos are very clear and bear no signs of fading.The blue text for the tracklistings on the black background are clear and distinct.. The Track logo and record numbers are present as are the E J Day credits in white print on a black background. No sign of any seam splits. There is some creasing to the laminate inside and out but it is sound and not peeling. Slight ring-wear to the front.
LABELS:
The labels have the silver print and logo on a matt black background. Track Records large symbol present. All of the track listings and identification numbers etc. are very clean and unworn. The labels are all easy to read still. Some very light spindle wear and obviously not played to death.

TEST PLAYING:
I test played this twice on High End Naim amplifiers, Kef Foundry Reference speakers, and an Audio Concept deck. In my opinion it was very good indeed for a 1968 LP! There were no mistracks, warping, jumps or skips.  There was some surface noise detected between tracks especially on Side A. The vocals are very clear. Good separation of instruments and drums.  There are some hairline marks and very light scratches from handling - none of them could be felt by hand!! Nothing really detracted from the music or vocals and I thought the disc is VG+ at least on playing rather than excellent. A few light clicks and pops in some places but nothing extreme. It may well sound even better on lesser equipment because mine shows every blemish.

I will be using a Professional wet solution / Hoover type Deep Groove Cleaning machine before sending, and provide a new replacement card inner sleeve and new anti-static inner sleeve for your choice. I do not have the original inner sleeve. The gatefold sleeve will have a new plastic cover. I will pack well with reinforced cardboard and a cardboard record case for protection. Postage is by Signed for process.

Notes

A correction run of erroneous covers, featuring the controversial image (censored by some outlets at the time) of naked ladies on front/back. Made at the same time ('pre-release') as the 'white text' covers.
Cover is fully laminated inside and out.

Gatefold opens to view inner spread (glued to outer cover's inside tabs as separate element).  (Effectively, the sleeve is a flattened 2-piece cardboard tube).

Hendrix portrait on right-hand side (Back cover behind it).
Large sepia images of Redding & Mitchell on left (Front cover behind it), with blue tracks/credit text below them. "Track Record" logo center, E.J.Day print data to left. Erratic use of upper & lower-case in titles.

The vinyl: First release, 1st pressing 180 gram vinyl with original 'high-dynamic' mix. Produced in auto-coupled sequence;

Titles: This UK issue has no suffix to "Come On", "The" is prefixed to "Burning Of The Midnight Lamp" and "Cross Town" appears as two words.

Recorded: Initial tracks at Olympic Studios, London, January 1968. Completed at Record Plant Studios, Studio A, New York, June to August 1968.
Performers, additional to the band, and technical credits added retrospectively. Taken from the authorized Hendrix family trust releases on the Experience Hendrix label.
