Description

Not something that surfaces every day of the week...Hendrix test pressing...in great condition.
So, this is a TEST pressing from '68 with those not-for-sale labels for London Records. Matrix 1B/1B. Stampers 1B/1B - the very 1st stamper under the Buckingham sequence. The labels are consistent with genuine test pressing from '68. The heavy set vinyl comes housed in an original '68 stereo cover printed by S.P. Ltd with pinched spine. Also included is the original '68 inner sleeve date coded to 08-68...August 1968. So, 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Ex) In beautiful condition and looks to have only seen very light use. Under close inspection we could only make out a couple of very light marks - nothing remotely troublesome. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals an EXCELLENT level of playback. Intros and inbetweens are practically silent and the audio comes across with excellent clarity. Interference is very limited and infrequent. We didn't detect more than a few crackles in a couple of isolated moments. Very little to find fault with and I am grading conservatively to ensure a pleasant surprise.
Cover (Ex) In lovely condition and has clearly been looked after carefully. Lovely clean front with barely any ageing or creasing. The rear, often the problem area, looks sweet with only light handling and hardly any ageing. Edge wear is very light for this title and the openings are still sharp. The spine is 100% intact. Overall the cover retains perfect rigidity and lies totally flat.
Inner (Vg+) Light ageing at the extremities. No splits. Catalogue number has been written on the rear in the top-right corner.
