1967 Original Very First UK pressing of this monumental Hendrix classic .

There are very pleasing and significant differences between the two mixes that make the MONO version extremely special to collectors :

EXP is shorter without the extended feedback at the end and the vocals are louder.
Castles Made of Sand features a different vocal performance.
One Rainy Wish has a slightly different ending.

Mono is well preferred by many with the much deeper, sharp tones and the profound depth of aural delivery. There are other minor differences too, spanning the entire playback, as a result of the separate mixing to mono as opposed to merely combining the stereo tracks. Hence its apparent high value and appeal from collectors worldwide.

Black Track label format .First issue labels!!! Excellent condition . Several spider lines only. No damage visible .NO mottling. NO peeling. NO graffiti of any kind. Silver text stands prominently with NO fading or damage . Beautiful examples of this rare mono variant .

Laminated outer gatefold sleeve . The very first issue gatefold sleeve in beautiful condition !!

E J Day printed  ! ! Strong, vibrant coloration of luminous orange, pink and blue inks project in style on front/reverse faces .Lovely glossy sheen and opens to excellent inners with little to fault . Flip backs near perfect with no damage to report. One light crease top left only.

Slight corner rubs. No lifting to laminate and minimal creasing to external lamination. Very difficult to locate in this excellent condition. Spine is ex+ with only a couple of minor insignificant peels.

Vinyl

Thick, heavyweight giant and gives a buzz when held. Gorgeous feel . Some surface marks i.e. faint hairlines/light scratches visible. Staggering mirror like sheen . Not heavily played and reflects a glass like appearance. Visually pleasing to the eye . Couple of light scuffs. No deep scratches  . Very good + visual.

Audio

Opens with the introduction of this great rock icon . As he speaks the special effects of the deliberate deceleration of his vocals kick in and grind down to a mind blowing initiation of a truly magnificent album presentation. Launches the listener into an amazing journey of sensational tones and a tremendous depth of sound . The monotone delivery is one of the best that I have heard from this Hendrix classic and conveys the music with a concise definition and a razor sharp edge. Apart from one or two audible scratches which produce an occasional faint tick, plays excellent. There is very minor surface disturbance i.e. static during the quieter parts and between tracks but does little to interfere with the music presentation.

These channels operate very effectively and must be graded a mostly excellent aural delivery. Mostly clear channels with hardly any deterioration in sound quality. Absolutely awesome audio as mono records got played with heavy styli and caused massive groove wear, resulting in distortion and muffled deliveries. This audio delivers unbelievable tones! Will not disappoint.

 A truly phenomenal Hendrix release and as one listens to this album, one can appreciate that this is a true classic ,  and one record that all serious vinyl collectors should have. The pure genius of this man is illustrated throughout. The feedback from the amplifiers and the screeching electric guitar infusions are truly magnificent and places this rock classic as one of the best of its time.

The original ORANGE lyrics  insert in very good + condition /A few creases/finger print impressions . No rips nor tears

Hi Please take note that this LP has been played several times with visible surface marks and light scratches and a couple of scuffs on the surface. These marks are visible but the vinyl does have a nice deep gloss to enhance its appearance hence the overall grading of vg.Vinyl itself, with respect to markings etc. ,is good/vg- condition and audio is considerably better.

Hi again. I have had a tremendous amount of interest for this vinyl release . Audio I know is critical when evaluating a record. Have been asked to replay for aural analysis and side 1 plays wonderfully well so strict grade vg/mostly ex . Side 2 vg-/vg+ as there are a few solitary pops occasional with distant static during some of the playback. Summarising, tones rise above any surface disturbance to give at least a vg audio,and considerably better in some parts.Best to downgrade to be on the safe side!
