The Jimi Hendrix Experience 'Axis Bold As Love'.
  Original UK black and silver Track label mono press LP, with the earliest A//1 B//1 matrices and mono flipback gatefold cover!
Axis Bold As Love was released in December 1967 and charted at number 5 in the UK. The album was the last recording by Hendrix to have a dedicated mono mix, which was only released in the UK and US. The album was released in stereo in the rest of the world. It was recorded soon after Are You Experienced to fulfill the Experience's record contract, which stated that they had to produce two albums in 1967, but released in the US later in 1968.   The Ernest J. Day Co Ltd laminated flipback gatefold sleeve is intact & in EX condition, with some light corner/edge wear and a few small laminate creases and some light laminate rubbing on the outer cover, with the inner cover having some light storage rubbing. The spine is intact and slightly worn, the plain dated company inner is intact & in VG+ condition, but no insert i'm afraid.   The record is in visually VG+ condition, with a few faint sleeve removal hairlines/scuffs and a couple of light needle marks visible under bright light on each side. The labels are in EX condition, clean & bright with evidence of one or two faint spindle markings on each side.   The sound reproduction is EX, still clear & precise throughout, with definately no skips, sticks or jumps, but there is some low background noise during the run in grooves and very occassionaly some low background noise in a couple of the quieter passages, overall still a really clean, loud & clear listen!   The matrix nos. are; 612003, A//1 stamper 1-2-7, B//1 stamper 1-4-4. This is one of the early copies of the 1st pressing of the original 1967 UK mono issue of this album!
