The Vinyl.   Please don't buy this . . . or I'll have to mail it to you.  I've got some totally Kool trades lined up (I should do this more often, thanks customers for your past support; but like I've told folks, once someone bids, I don't make up an excuse like "someone broke my record" for not mailing the winning bidder the sought after record).  This is an awesome original mono record.  It looks VG++ and plays Near Mint with no detectable pops or flaws.  There are a 3-4 very small smudges on side 2 of the record that look like fingerprint residue or something that (which do not affect play).  Other than that it has some light paper marks that one can see under close scrutiny and remains bright and shiny.  I listened to this last night and today and can’t find any flaws with the listening experience.  It is dead quiet between the tracks; no pops or crackles. What a great pressing.  The matrix numbers are 612001 A and 612 001 B (true first press; no wonder it sounds so freaking good!).  I really don't think it would be possible to find a copy that plays nicer anywhere on this planet.  And I take my vinyl playing seriously (actually I'm selling this and other records to pay for my $3,000 Benz Ruby 3 cartridge, which is well worth it as painful as it might be).

The Labels.  The labels are the original black Track labels in Mono; labels are near mint with only slight signs of spindle wear.

 The Cover.  The “Ernest J. Day Patent Pending” mono cover is in excellent condition, which I’ll rate a conservative VG+.  Tight dent free corners that show only some minor rounding or fluffing (see scans), no flaking or splitting of the seams or spine except one ¼ inch spot on top left cover, and one ¼ inch spot on top right cover, between the “are” and “you” on the left side and right side of the cover).  One spot is white from a very slight tear where the “green” has worn off the cover; the other tear is just flaking the green is still on the cover; could probably be carefully glued to prevent any further damage.  But these are very very minor flaws.  Also is some very slight ringwear which you don’t really notice much unless you hold the record up at an angle so it reflects light off the cover (see one scan where they are easily seen; and the other one where they are not visible).  There are a few very small creases along the bottom of the cover, and one small ¾ inch crease near Jimi’s elbow (which is concealed in black cape; one similar small one near top right corner; barely noticeable).  Like all copies of this I have seen, the writing on the spine is small and “rolled” over the back so that you really cannot read it (see scan closeup); no spine damage other than very very light age wear.

Grading Vinyl.  I use modified Goldmine grading standards.  I use P/F/G/G+/VG-/VG/VG+/NM/M.  What is modified is that I DO NOT use EX; sometimes I use VG++ for something not quite NM that is still too underrated for a VG+.  Mint is unplayed new.  NM may reflect being played a few times, nothing other than paper scuffs from the paper sleeve or, when noted, some common factory trait.  VG++ is what I guess others call EX, although most EX I buy (especially from certain other English speaking countries) I would rate VG+ at best.  VG+ is my conservative “keeper copy” definition.  Anything with noticeable crackles will not stand a chance of a VG+ grade, while some VG records will but crackles as noted in description.  I play grade my vinyl on my Rockport Sirius Turntable with my new MC Ruby 3 Micro Benz cartridge, which is why I’m selling these records (to pay for the cartridge)!  All records are guaranteed; I’ll pay postage both ways if you are not; but please, read the ad carefully (e.g., I don’t want to refund someone again for postage who doesn’t read the ad carefully and doesn’t notice the ad is only for a picture sleeve and not the record also).
