Description

This is the 1975 first pressing of Concierto by Jim Hall in VG+ condition.  This is a record that flies under the radar despite the fact that it's outstanding and full of legends.  Perhaps this is suitable for the low-key awesomeness of Jim Hall.  Hall was an amazing guitarist who had appeared with Bill Evans and Sonny Rollins (The Bridge) and here he shows up with "bums" like Chet Baker, Steve Gadd, Ron Carter (who seems like a super nice guy if you ever get to listen to him on a podcast) and Paul Desmond.  The recording engineer : Rudy Van Gelder.  So the hype of the musicians lives up to the performance, with the standout being side 2's reimagining of Rodrigo's Concierto de Aranjuez - specifically the legendary 2nd movement.
