Description
I have been collecting records for decades and the time has come for some of them to find a new home. Most will be in excellent condition, some have been in my family for years and remain unplayed. I will grade them all fairly and listen to them before listing.
All of them will be professionally cleaned before being sent.

Up for auction here is a Uk first MONO pressing of the 1968 debut album by Jethro Tull entitled This Was. Released in the Uk on Island records?– ILP985. This is a first pressing on heavy vinyl with textured labels . It is in excellent condition.
Matrix / Runout (A Side): ILP 985+A and ILP 985+ B
The vinyl is visually in Excellent + condition and has been very well looked after. The audio is also excellent and plays through superbly without any skips or jumps. There is a bit of normal background crackle but overall it was a superb listen and I would grade the audio as a solid Excellent.
The textured Labels are in awesome condition which shows how little this has been played . I would grade them as Excellent +.
The Original gatefold sleeve has some normal light signs of wear but is still a nice example. I would grade it as a strong Very Good +. It is laminate on the outside, matt on the inside.
Overall a very nice copy of this classic debut Tull lp.

I use Record Collector ratings to grade my vinyl. These are :
Mint: The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition.
Excellent: The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening of sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and / or creasing.
Very Good: The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.
Good: The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discolouration etc..
Fair: The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise: it may even jump. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.
Poor: The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise etc.. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.
