Description

A 1st pressing on the UK Chrysalis label from 1972. A3/B2. Stamper 2-OT/2-PA. Etching "Porky/Pecko". These 1st pressings have a very distinctive label with the Island logo present in the perimeter text. The heavy set vinyl comes housed in an original foldout gatefold newspaper styled cover. All pages intact and present.
Vinyl (Ex) In remarkably good condition and has clearly only seen light use. Under close inspection we struggled to make out even one or two ultra light marks. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals an Excellent level of playback with one deviation. Intros and inbetweens are nice and quiet and the audio comes across with excellent clarity and minimal interference. The only really audible interference is the quieter passage/beginning to track 1 - we're picking up some light static. It soon peters out when the main body of the song kicks in. Other than that the audio quality from this Peckham cut is outstanding. The percussion is particularly well resolved and you can understand why someone would insist on one of these early copies as the defacto goto for best audio.
Cover (Ex-) In absolutely superb shape. Yes, there's a touch of the smudging of ink in one or two places on the front, but this true original cover is in very fine condition. No nasty rips or tears. All the pages are intact and complete. That is quite a feat considering those newspaper styled inner pages are very thin. Truly amazing to find them like this at all. The spine is totally intact and overall the cover still retains excellent rigidity.
