Description

An original 1st issue of TAAB on the UK Chrysalis label. Matrix A3/B2 - 1st cut. Etching "Porky/Pecko". Stampers 1-OO/1-MP. Please note that you can get very early 1st pressings with the Island white perimeter text on the labels. But at 1st issue, for the months whilst this LP charted, most copies will have looked like the one above with that text omitted. The heavy-set vinyl comes housed in an original NEWSPAPER style cover with inner pages. Also included is an original plastic bag warning inner sleeve from the time. So, 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Ex/Ex+) In very nice condition indeed and has only seen light use. Under close inspection I could only make out a couple of light marks per side - nothing remotely troublesome. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals an EXCELLENT level of playback. By and large a very nice clean rendition with little to find fault with. Interference is very minor indeed and infrequent. All I could detect was just a whiff of lightest static momentarily in a couple of isolated moments on Side 1. Absolutely nothing that remotely compromises the audio - I'm just mentioning it as there will be some buyers who require absolute silence the whole way through. Side 2 is nigh on faultless and grades Ex+. So, to all intents and purposes a very accomplished and enjoyable rendition which would be very hard to better.
Cover (Ex/Ex+) Well, I'd argue that this example is absolutely top-draw. And I'll explain why...this title with its newspaper style cover is one of THE all time difficult covers to find in smart condition. Due to the way it was printed/manufactured it usually turns up in aged, torn, and mucky condition. Only a copy which has been very very carefully looked after has even half a chance of surviving like this example. The outer white cover is just that WHITE all-sides with no signs of ageing or markings. Now, that's really quite unusual. The thinner newspaper pages in the interior look a tanned colour. So, these pages were always that colour or have tanned over time. If they have tanned over time then I would imagine every copy will exhibit this [i.e. it is unavoidable]. Edge wear is very light for this title and I can only make out anything vaguely noticeable along that top edge. The spine is almost entirely intact with all text legible - now, that really is incredibly unusual. Overall I feel that this specimen is superb and I really don't think there will be many examples out there at this level of preservation.
