Description
Jethro Tull - Thick As A Brick
This is the first UK release of the album in Mar 1972 with green Chrysalis labels with Island logo at top. It comes in a gatefold style sleeve which opens out to be a 12 page newspaper. Cat # CHR 1003.
Visual and play graded to Goldmine Standard - Vinyl is VG, sleeve is VG.
Vinyl - Visually graded as VG. Not many surface marks or hairlines but one side is really blotchy where it has been in storage. A good clean up would help. I listened through a few parts of each side, and there is audible surface noise. Not enough to overpower the music in any way, but it is noticeable, mainly on side 1. VG
Sleeve - Really hard to grade due to the novelty newspaper attachment. It has general ageing and edge wear and the fold out flap to the bottom is slightly torn about 1-2 cm. Price sticker on back. The section that holds the record is partially coming away from the sleeve but not exactly hanging by a thread. All 12 pages of the newspaper are intact and readable. Plain inner is creased and has writing. Fair to say it's just about VG

About the seller:
I am a record collector myself and have been buying vinyl online since the 90's. I started selling on Ebay a few months ago and have sold 40+ records so far with no complaints - please check my feedback. I am now selling a collection of around 400 LPs that I have inherited from a family friend that have been in storage for over 25 years. They have been stored upright in a smoke free home for that time.
Grading:
I grade records using the "Goldmine Standard." If you are not familiar with this you can google it and find details quite easily. None of the records I am selling are Mint (unopened, unused) so will normally be NM, VG+ or VG. I give a separate grading for the vinyl and the sleeve. I do not have time to listen to each record fully but after careful visual inspection I always listen to any parts that have marks that look like they will even slightly affect the sound. I always try to give as much information as possible and highlight in the photos any wear. Basically the last thing I want is the buyer to have any surprises when receiving the record.
Postage & packing:
All records are sent in a polythene sleeve in a corrugated cardboard mailer and with stiffeners. I normally post the next working day and always within two. I do not make any profit from P&P - Once Ebay and Paypal have taken their percentage and I pay for the mailer, sleeve and the postage itself, I just about break even. If you wish to buy more than one record and combine the shipping, please contact me first so I can check the records fit into one mailer. Then after you purchase I will send you an invoice with combined shipping costs before you pay.
Within UK:
To keep the cost to a minimum I use second class post. For records close to £50 it is slightly more expensive, for Royal Mail to cover up to that amount. For records above £50 it costs more as I use Special Delivery, also due to the value of the item. If you would prefer any other service please contact me so I can arrange.
International:
The shipping prices quoted will be from the Ebay Global Shipping Programme, where they take care of the shipping outside of the UK. I will usually be able to offer a cheaper service so please contact me so I can quote you and arrange my own international shipping.
