An original 1st press of PAST -- in that rather fetching faux leather HARDBACK Book presentation. Now, these copies do turn up now and again....but this example is literally TERRIFIC...and quite unusual. Let me explain. That hardback book - is often wrecked...the surfaces. The internal pages often fall out or are torn. Then there's the LP's - if you purchased it on DAY 1 --- you would have got a very quality product...NOT the flimsy crap they dished out just 6 months later...THESE copies are really heavy pressed and sound A-MAZING...so don't underestimate what you're looking at....MOST copies...are NOT on this LEVEL. Peckham cut all the 1/1/1/1's.
Vinyl (Ex) In lovely condition and has only seen light careful use. Under close inspection I can only make out a couple of very slight marks per side - nothing remotely troublesome. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals an EXCELLENT level of playback with minor deviation in one spot per side. Intros and inbetweens are really quiet and the audio comes across with excellent clarity. A cracking copy by any measure - the delivery is lovely and clean. This allows you to sit back and marvel at this classic 70's title. Remember JT is very fussy audio....at one moment very hectic rock full-on....next minute it goes all percussion and the flutes in the mix. So, you need the original Peckham [Porkie] cut and you need it pressed heavy.. A few crackles just observable in one track per side. nothing worrisome. Nothing distracting... Overall a consistent and superb player!

Cover (Ex/Ex-) In super condition and has survived the years in far better condition than many examples. The surfaces are superb and clean and unworn. One crease bottom left corner - rear. this is unusual. As mentioned above the solidity of the cover is amazing and light years better than later copies.. Minimal edge wear and the spine 95% intact. The interior looks superb too. Those pages that form inner pockets are unsplit - very unusual given the weight of the vinyl. A bit of tape residue in two spots...But it is perhaps the tape over the years that has kept the book pages in place. So swings and roundabouts! Sweet!!
