Title: Benefit German first press with original poster

I am reluctantly listing my treasured copy of this sought after, highly collectible Jethro Tull LP..

Why I am so reluctant is because of the condition of the poster. I have seen many listed here and on sale elsewhere and none in this condition. No foxing at all to the paper .. I have kept it seperate to the LP in a sealed plastic sleeve with a small dessicator bag. 

It has of course been folded for 43 years, with enevitable rubbing and you can see evidence of this in particular where an inner fold is worn over a dark piece of print ... for example Clive's hair (see picture)

Otherwise its simply amazing that there are no rips or tears to any of the edges or corners.

....and of course no sellotape front or back and no pin holes!

Also .......... the LP itself is on the first Pink Island 'Orange Bullseye' label ... many others offered for sale only have the later 'white i' label.

As this is a used LP: to help us both I have copied the 'record collector guide' at the bottom of the listing and enclosed 12 high quality, revealing pictures.

Vinyl: This LP has been played but obviously carefully and not many times. Held up to bright light you can see sleeve removal and other very light surface marks but nothing that affects playback. I have played* it myself and it does sounds fantastic......... however I bought it originally for it's rarity and not to play it, so not many times. Both sides still have amazingly clean grooves and like new shine.

Sleeve: In great condition with only the smallest ever bit of wear on the spine edge ..... 5mm maybe .. (you can just about see it in spine picture.. far left)

Inner Sleeve: Original poly lined .. no writing, rips or tears. TN1 1224-13.71 is printed on bottom right hand corner

Labels: Clean with no writing (as is the sleeve).Slight spindle marks visible in strong light 

Original Poster: I would be amazed were there a much better 43 year old folded poster originally enclosed in a rock album around today

* for the benefit of doubt my set up is and has been for many years........... a high end AR turntable; Linn tonearm and ortofon cartridge (replaced regularily of course)

Record Collector Magazine's Grading Guide:

MINT: The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Records advertised as Sealed or Unplayed should be Mint.

EXCELLENT: The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and / or creasing.

VERY GOOD: The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.

GOOD: The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discolouration, etc.

FAIR: The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump. The cover and contents will be torn, stained and / or defaced.

POOR: The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.

BAD: The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection filler."

As well as the above grades, Near Mint is often used as well; this is really for a record that appears new but is known to have been played because the label has light spindle marks or because it has come from a previous owner and is assumed to have been played by them.

For records which appear to fall between the accepted grades, + and - are also often added to the grading.
