Description
Jerome Richardson - "roamin' with Richardson" New Jazz 8226 Mono, 1959
This is the original deep-groove RVG-stamped pressing on the purple and silver labels of New Jazz NJLP 8226.
Vinyl: Side A begins at needle drop with a bit of crackle. At the :14 second mark, there is a notable repeat click heard due to a scratch. This repeat click
lasts until 2:34, where the repeat click fades entirely. At the 2:20 mark there is a skip where the music misses a note, very subtle, no lock skip. Near the end
of this first track, there is a lesser, but notable repeat click for about 30 seconds as the song fades. The remainder of side A plays places nicely with just a hint
of crackle behind the music. Side B plays very nicely overall with no notable flaws beyond a bit of surface noise but if you know this album, side B is slightly
more upbeat and the instruments drown most of the surface noise, which is most notable during quiet portions and between tracks. Very enjoyable!
Cover/Jacket: Overall jacket shows some slight warping and 4-inches of chipping/splitting on center top edge. Front cover is clean and shows limited signs of aging and wear. Light wear to corners and edges. Minor corner push on top right. No jacket creasing. Rear jacket has light moisture stains on bottom. Bottom left corner of the front cover has a slight bubble in the slick, presumably from some light moisture.
