This is FAMOUS BLUE RAINCOAT (aka JENNY SINGS LENNY), by Jennifer Warnes with guest appearances by Leonard Cohen, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Van Dyke Parks and others. It is a 180-gram audiophile pressing on three 45 RPM 12" LP's mastered and cut from the original, first-generation analog masters on an all-tube cutting system and featuring beautiful newly designed cover. The vinyl used is high-density, virgin vinyl with absolutely no re-grind or spill-over. Comes with a 24-page book containing song lyrics, unpublished photos and production notes. The package is presented in a sturdy and attractive box set sure to be a collector's item. Of the limited edition of 6000, this is # 752.

Recorded in 1986 at the following places: The Complex, Amigo Studios, Hollywood Sound, The Enterprise, Mama Jo's, Salty Dog Recording and The Record Plant; released January 1987. Running time is 41:32.

Famous Blue Raincoat is a tribute to Leonard Cohen with whom Warnes had toured as a backup singer in the 1970s. The album's songs span much of Cohen's career from his 1969 album Songs From A Room to his 1984 album Various Positions (on which Warnes sang), and even two tracks from Cohen's then-unreleased album I'm Your Man. The album is the first record produced by Roscoe Beck, recorded on Sony equipment, and is considered one of the best productions of all time, often used by audiophiles to test or demonstrate high-end stereo equipment. In August 2007, a remastered and expanded 20th anniversary edition was released.
