Description
After around 55 years of storing some of them, I'm finally clearing out my vinyl collection as I really don't play them any more. And some, like this one, have only ever been played a couple of times anyway. This was bought on release, and like a lot of my albums from around this time was played maybe a couple of times before being filed away in the collection with all the others to be (shamefully) ignored ever since. A combination of work and domestic circumstances have meant that my main hi-fi has been largely untouched for the last 25 years.
So, the album itself is pretty much perfect. I played it to check it out for this listing and there is no background noise at all. There are no marks or faults and the vinyl is nice and black and shiny. If you look at it from a certain angle against the light, there seems to be a tiny hairline mark at the beginning of side one, but there is no audible sign of this on listening. I also digitised this album as I played it and there is also no sign of this mark visually in the waveform of the recording, so I can only assume it's just a visual mark within the vinyl. Runout markings are stamped CUSLP 20 A-01-1- 1- D and CUSLP 20 B-02-01-1 D and both sides have the etched TOWN HOUSE DMM.
Both the glossy inner sleeve and the outer sleeve/cover are also in near perfect unmarke condition.
This is a nearly as-new copy of a rare and rather wonderful album (going through checking and playing some of these LPs is almost making me want to keep them all, but I know they'll never get any serious playing time if I did, so . . .)
