Original UK Columbia/EMI label stereo press.

The second album by Jeff Beck, recorded in six days in April and released in November 1969. Immediately after the recording sessions the band had left to tour America and were booked to play Woodstock in August. Tensions within the band led to Ronnie Wood & Rod Stewart quitting in July and Nicky Hopkins went on to play Woodstock with Jefferson Airplane. Jeff Beck in turn played on the New York sessions known as 'Music From Free Creek', before returning to England and suffering a head injury in a car crash in December, just after the albums final release and the end of the first version of the Jeff Beck Group.

The original issue with the second label variant one box black & silver Columbia/EMI labels with the 'Gramophone Co' rim text and the -1 -2 matrices, with 1-GR 1-M stampers of the first presses!

  The Garrod & Lofthouse matt flipback sleeve is intact & in EX condition, with some light edge/corner wear & a little storage rubbing/discolouration on the outer cover. The spine is intact and fully readable, the red EMI advertising inner is intact and is in EX condition.   The record is in visually EX+ condition, with only a couple of faint hairlines and one or two small needle scuffs visible on each side. The labels are in EX+ condition, clean & bright with no evidence of spindle markings on either side.   The sound reproduction is EX+, still clear & precise throughout with no loud hiss or crackle & definately no skips, sticks or jumps, but there is some brief background noise during the run in grooves.
Overall, just a really great, loud & clear listen!  

The matrix nos. are; YAX-3870-1 stamper 1-GR, YAX-3871-2 stamper 1-GR. This is one of the early copies of the 1st pressing of the original 1969 UK stereo issue of this album.
