VERY RARE & COLLECTIBLE JAZZ LP
The 1st album by Sun Ra, an extremely hard-to-find album, a must for the serious jazz collector.
This is an album from an extensive collection of early jazz albums that I will be selling for a Vermont client, so look back often to take advantage of a wonderful collection.
I take a lot of pictures as they tend to show the condition better than I can describe them. Be sure and check out the pictures and ask for more if there is something specific you want to see.
This is the original 1957 USA issue and would be a nice addition to your collection.
RECORD - graded VG
has minimal light scatches and scuffs (can't feel with fingernail) that don't effect the listening experience.
labels are both detached from the album and show minor wear (see pictures). Unfortunately with the Transition LP's, the labels came off easily. I'll leave the reattaching to the new owners.
The runout areas have the correct etchings (TRLP10A + CR + 5N on one side TRLP10B + CR + 5N on the other side)
This album plays REAL STRONG with no distortion, skipping or other major audible defects. An excellent album to listen to. There is an occassional light surface noise (dust/static noise) but never anything that interferes with the music quality.
COVER - graded a Good
no shrinkwrap - no price sticker or writing on the front cover - back cover has the note for the booklet (not included) with a price sticker and some pen markdowns - front and back cover are completely separated (2 pieces) - opening edge has some chipping and corner wear (see pictures) - some corner bumping (see pictures) - the new owners can rejoin the front and back covers as they see fit
CLEANING
I do a cautionary cleaning only, some light brushing with an approved audio carbon fiber brush and minimal use of audio cleaning solution if warranted. I do not professionally clean my records, I leave that up to the new owners.
GRADING
I utilize the industry standard for grading, Goldmine's, and I tend to grade conservatively.
PACKING
All records are shipped outside their covers, in new sleeves, packed between 2 sturdy corrugated cardboard flats and mailed in an approved record mailer.
