Description
I inherited many, many records and will be letting some of them go. This one is from my dad, Chuck Mahaffay's, collection. He was an early player in the Seattle jazz scene in the 60's with his band, Chuck Mahaffay & the Individuals. I carried his drums, etc. as a kid into the classy nightclubs he played in with his band in the early Seattle jazz days. Those were the days when tight quartets/quintets, etc. played to well dressed patrons on their Saturday nights out - no moshpits. I heard the music later on albums like this one. This one is as follows:
Artist: John Windhurst Quartet
Title: Jazz At Columbus Ave.
Includes: Back In Your Own Backward 6:07, You Do Something To Me 4:57, Memphis Blues 6:41, Strutz Miss Lizzie 5:10, Lover Come Back To Me 5:55, Georgia On My Mind 7:36, When You're Smiling 8:40,
Dated: 1955? no easily read date on record or cover but I do see 4-22-55 on the actual record label (1955?)
Label: Transition Records trlp j 2 - also says american jazz / panorama records on front cover at the bottom left side
Condition of LP: Good condition - looks to be unplayed
Condition of Cover: Fair condition, NO booklet, small bend on top of cover and impression mark on back with minor scuffing. Colorful cover art with appropriate fading due to age. Back of cover is solid black so I didn't take a picture of it.
Shipping - $4.00 but I will combine shipping for multiple items purchased - I will send an updated invoice in these occasions.

1/26/12 I received a question about whether this is a reissue and it does not appear to be as there are no other phrases about that on the label or on the back cover. However, as I was looking, I noticed that the label on side a is loose and side b's label just came off when I looked at the LP closely - dang it! (40-50 year old glue) There is a small imperfection about pinhead size on side a, track 3, and maybe light scuffing on side a between tracks 2 and 3. I am learning what people are looking for as I begin to list albums and welcome any questions as I don't want anyone to be disappointed.
