Description
Sonny Rollins, Work Time, on Prestige 7020. Original mono issue with the W. 50th address and RVG stamp in dead wax. Disk is very strong VG to VG+ with full shine, a few light marks here and there. The B-side does have a couple of relatively long, very thin scratches, but they don't sound. Overall fidelity is superb throughout, with a little surface noise typical of these early Prestige pressings during the piano interlude on There Are Such Things and a couple of other quieter parts, but almost no pops, clicks, or crackles during the vast bulk of the music. Although the vinyl looks and sounds like it didn't see much play, whoever owned this wasn't very good at centering the hole over the spindle, because there are spindle marks on both labels. The B side label (pictured) also has a bit of non-sticky tape residue. The cover has tape along all three seams, which is odd, because none of them are split--the owner must have just wanted to reinforce the seams, I guess. Rear cover has a little tearing that doesn't intrude on text, the original price sticker ($3.00), and a piece of making tape with a name and number on it. The record is cleaner than the cover would have you think.

VG+ Light marks, full shine, great looking record
VG Still fairly shiny but clearly a used record, light scratches, will play well but with some surface noise
VG- Played or used more heavily, lots of scratches, more pronounced surface noise, but still plays through okay
