Description
Ornette Coleman, The Empty Foxhole, on Blue Note 4246. Original mono copy with Van Gelder stamp and New York address on labels. The record has no scratches on it, but does have several scuffs, particularly on Side 1, which has a couple of long fingernail scuffs as well as several shorter ones. Side 2 has two shorter scuffs. Were it not for these, the record would grade as M-. But the scuffs make no sound, and the disk plays like a M- record throughout, with superb clarity and fidelity and no surface noise. Cover is still in shrink wrap, though the shrink wrap has torn and wrinkled. Front cover has some light staining along the right-hand edge, a two-inch seam split at top, and the very beginnings of a split at bottom. Rear cover shows light general aging and wear. A superb play copy.
I am currently selling a very nice batch of 50s and 60s jazz originals in great shape, so check my other auctions.
