Description

Rare ANDREW HILL, "Point of Departure" Blue Note 4167 LP, with original blue note insert sleeve. Blue Note Records BLP 4167 (Mono). Blue and White, New York Label with "VAN GELDER" & Ear mark in Deadwax Trailing. EX+/EX+. This LP came from a collection once owned by local Seattle area Jazz DJ and like nearly all of his LPs was rarely played! Pianist and composer Andrew Hill is a remarkably individualistic artist who definitively articulated his uncommon musical vision on a series of Blue Note albums as a leader from 1963-1970. This record is considered his best achievement and is highly recommended for jazz aficionados. Really amazing album, another great find!

Side 1: Refuge, New Monastery.
Side 2: Spectrum, Flight 19, Dedication.

Credits: Andrew Hill (Piano), Joe Henderson (Tenor Sax), Kenny Dorham (Trumpet), Eric Dolphy (Alto Sax, Flute & Bass Clarinet), Richard Davis (Bass), Anthony Williams (Drums).
Cover has very slight wear, and a "promotion copy" stamp on back, preventing NM grade. Record has a couple light unnoticeable scuffs, otherwise it would be in Near Mint condition! We guarantee all of our LPs to be as described.

Payment by Paypal (preferred) or money order only.
