Description
2 vinyl test pressings (Okeh 404382/404383) by Clarence Williams’ Washboard Band with Eva Taylor
Where That Old Man River Flows & Shout, Sister, Shout = V+
Very Good plus condition, light wear & surface marks, both discs look closer to E- but play with some surface noise (hear sample), hand written white labels that are bubbled & a bit soiled in the center (see scans), piano with band, Ed Allen - trumpet, Eva Taylor - vocals, post war one sided vinyl test pressings from Okeh masters, New York, 1930
Records are graded visually and confirmed by playing. I grade 78s conservatively using the VJM scale. This means records graded N- are nearly spotless and records graded G, although considerably worn, still play with music being slightly dominant to surface noise. Specific flaws will be noted along with the grade.
N- (almost New) E+, E (Excellent, low surface noise) E-, V+, V (Very good, medium surface noise) V-, G+, G (not so Good, heavy surface noise but still plays) G-, F (Fairly bad) P (Poor)
