Description

Condition: A solid EX or better, no scuffs or scratches, plays clean on both sides. This is a very interesting record here, more of a mid-60s Garage Rock record than a Soul record. Year unknown, obviously mid 1960s by the sound. Jay, the singer is obviously an African American guy, the back up band is a hard driving garage rock band. Soulful vocals with a snotty Garage Punk attitude. The music is simple guitar based Garage rock with a repetitive beat. This is no jangling love song. I am a big fan of Garage Rock, this record reminds me of a more stripped down early version of Love. The vocalist has a definite Arthur Lee vibe to his vocals. The flip side is quite good as well, a upbeat blues based, rocker. I would say this a real double sider. This might have been a producer project by Buddy Prima who arranged and produced this record. This is one of those great "Unknown" records. ( See what another seller is asking for this same record here. They have it listed at that high price on three different websites!
