Description
Good/Solid original copy of this great American Blues singer/harmonica player, Jay Bird Coleman, from almost a Century ago, Nov.1927 (97 years to be exact!). Sometimes known as Jaybird Coleman, on this label he's referred to as Jay Bird Coleman. Great Pre-War Blues, just Coleman's voice and his harmonica/blues harp, incredible singing and playing, just pure American rural Blues at its best. On the Gennett label, #6245, out of Richmond, Indianna. Record: G+, "Well-Loved" with scratches and scuffs, but no cracks, chips or breaks. Sound: a bit noisy but you can clearly hear the voice and blues harp just fine with no skips or repeats. Labels: VG+, very clean (See Pics), no breaks around the spindle hole, no writing, no tape, no tears. Interesting notes on both sides of the label: reads "New Electrobeam"!!, also, reads "Race Record-Blues". A Side: "Trunk Busted-Suitcase full of Holes" B Side: "Man Trouble Blues" (My Favorite) The last one sold, according to Popsike, was in 2006, 18 years ago, for $1,593.00. It was VG and had a chip out of it on the edge. Your chance to own this piece of Americana/Blues history. It's just amazing that this record has survived for 97 years without being broken or damaged beyond repair. Will be shipped with utmost care and handling as if it were my own as always.
