SR 90392, Janos Starker (cello) and Gyorgy Sebok (piano), Brahms Sonatas for Cello and Piano (E Minor, & F Major), RFR4/RFR2 GOLD PROMO label: This is NOT a reissue – it is the original 50+ year old GOLD PROMO (vendor) pressing.   The cello sound is magnificent - warm and detailed, with amazing dynamics.  The vinyl surfaces are exceptionally quiet except for 4 tics on side 1. There are visible scuffs (probably from storage), but these DO NOT make any sound.  I am grading the vinyl as EX only due to the scuffs and 4 tics – otherwise this copy plays very close to NM.  The labels are the gold promo “vendor” version, labeled “For broadcast only, not for sale.”  The jacket is EX with light ring wear on the upper front (see photos), but otherwise clean with no splits or corner wear.  It is stamped “Promotional Copy Not for Sale” in the upper left corner on the back.  The inner sleeve is the original and also EX.  Overall, this is very nice promo copy of this wonderful golden age recording that plays almost perfectly except for 4 light tics.  Feel free to return for a full refund if not completely satisfied.
