Description
I ended up accidentally seeing Jane’s Addiction’s second show – with an audience of about 20-30 in a small artist loft under the San Pedro Fwy that doubled as a club the Voltage Loft on weekends. I was blown away and went to pretty much every LA-area gig they had for the next 2-3 years, including the show at the Roxy where this was recorded. By then, I had spent over a year marinating in the potentially-mushroom-influenced belief that Jane’s Addiction was going to be the next Led Zeppelin. As such, I knew in advance exactly what day this album was going to be released (May 15, 1987), went to Rhino Records on Westwood Blvd that afternoon, and bought 10 copies (one for me and 9 as collector’s items). Over the decades, I’ve sold 8 of those 9, so this is my last one, still in the shrink wrap. Though not shown in the photos for obvious reasons, I can tell you that the vinyl inside is clear.
The special bonus you’ll get if you buy this LP from me is a story from a Jane’s show at the Club Lingerie in Hollywood: it was a showcase gig for major record label execs, well before they were signed by Warner Bros, and Perry … made an impression.
