Description
Up for sale is amazingly clean copy of James Moody ?– Hi Fi Party. Early presssing on yellow & black fireworks label with "446 W. 50th ST., N. Y. C." address and "Long playing microgroove" on both sides. "RVG" etched into one side, and stamped into the other side of the deadwax.
Vinyl is a (visual) M-/VG++. Some paper scuffs and light hairlines. Lots of little light scuffed areas on side b that don't seem to affect play. Still glossy.
Cover is M-/VG++. Very clean, some light edge-wear, corner-wear. Original rice paper inner sleeve. Clean labels. (see photos for details).
I play-graded this one:
Side 1 plays and sounds amazing. Song 1 - there are some light ticks audible in quiet parts. Track 2 - there are some ticks audible in quiet parts, 1 or two slightly louder random ticks. Track 3 - some light ticks audible in quiet parts. Track 4 - some very light ticks/surface noise audible in quiet parts, mostly plays clean. No loud pops or clicks.
Side 2 sounds amazing as well. Song 1 - there are some ticks audible in quiet parts. Track 2 - there are some ticks/surface noise in some quiet parts, otherwise plays clean. Track 3 - some light ticks audible in quiet parts. Track 4 - some very light ticks audible in quiet parts, mostly plays clean. No loud pops or clicks.
From a collection I recently purchased from an 83-year old record collector. His record shelves had plexi-glass doors in front of them which explains the amazing condition of the sleeves. He also took incredibly good care of the records. Follow my listings for more M-, mono Blue Note, Prestige, Pacific Jazz, Verve, Contemporary and Riverside LPs I'll be listing in the coming days.
