Description
You are bidding on a rare unreleased Jame Brown live album acetate. The announcer at the beginning of the album says it’s being recorded at Madison Square Garden and is titled Soul Brother Number One. It is doubtful that this was recorded at Madison Square Garden but neither was James Brown At The Garden (King 1018). This acetate should not be confused with that album as it contains a very different set list and appears to have been recorded in 1966 or early ’67.
There are no labels on the acetate itself. Like many live albums from this period, the cuts aren’t banded but appear to be one long continuous cut except for the first track on side one which contains the introduction. This part of the acetate is starting to peel and will not play through without some problems (see images). After the intro, the rest of side one and side two play through fine. (Here songs samples) This metal based acetate is not mint. Other than the section starting to peel at the first of side one, I would grade it VG or better. You’ll get a good idea from the song samples.
This item will be packed very carefully and the winner will need to pay for insurance for the amount of the final bid.
