Goldmine book value in NM condition is $600; $300 in VG+.
1961 US pressing of the classic James Brown LP, "Think". King printing on label is 3", denoting the 1961 pressing. Jacket is in excellent condition. Nice, clear graphic. Strong seams. This is the ultra rare "baby cover" that was later withdrawn. Record has typical light marks, and some grey "clouds", typical of early US pressings from King, Atlantic, Chess and other smaller record companies. Strong, punchy mono sound.
Side 1 plays VG+, with light surface noise and some crackle, also typical of early US pressings. Side 2 plays VG, with a little more surface noise and some crackle. The 1st song has a little more noise than the rest of the side. Overall, the sound is strong with that great mono punch, but please understand that this is an early US pressing, and as such will play with some surface noise and crackle. Most James Brown early pressings are really beat up. This one is quite decent, but again, it's not perfect.
Cleaned on my Clearaudio Matrix record cleaner and placed in a new Japanese inner sleeve. Record removed from jacket and placed in Japanese re-sealable outer sleeve.
