Description
Prestige LP-7035, "Lights Out" with Jackie McLean, sax; Don Byrd, trumpet; Elmo Hope, piano; Doug Watkins, bass; Art Taylor, drums; from 1957. Original West 50th St. vinyl plays from VG to VG++, depending on the track. There is light background static on the majority of the play, with a few pops on the title track and some heavy static on a few revolutions of "Inding"; "Lorraine" sounds almost perfect. The heavy jacket has generally strong seams but has cracks in the laminate in various places; there is medium corner wear; there are two corner bends (see scan); jacket back is basically clean with a couple of small stains. This is definitely well above a filler copy, but it is far from NM; on all but the affected spots on "Inding", it makes a satisfying play. Shipping is $4.00 media mail, $12.00 priority mail within the continental U.S.; $16.00 regular airmail to the U.K., Europe, Japan, Korea, Australia, and New Zealand. Additional LPs in a single package are $1.00 additional within U.S. and Canada, $2.00 elsewhere. For overseas shipments, registered mail is strongly recommended at $11.75 extra. Many old records are practically antiques and should be treated that way. This LP will be packaged with the record inside an inner sleeve but outside the jacket; both are placed inside a sealed outer sleeve and shipped inside a special oversized handcrafted mailer with padding on all sides. It is designed thick enough not to be bent in transit and strong enough to withstand a drop from a second-story window with no damage to LP or jacket. More than two LPs together may be mailed inside a heavy Bags Unlimited pizza-style box. Your LP should arrive in the same condition as on the day it was shipped. All used LPs are play-graded on a VPI turntable with Audioquest tonearm and Grado cartridge.
