Jack Bedient & The Chessmen. Where Did She Go? Satori Records(1001). 1967.
Originally from Wenatchee, Washington. Later based in Reno, Nevada. Jack Bedient and the Chessmen’s live show catered to the pop sound of the 1960's, featuring covers of then current hits, lounge songs and comedy bits. They released twelve 45s and five LPs most of which was a reflection of their lounge act. In 1967 members were: Jack Bedient (rhythm guitar and lead vocals), Kevin Woods (lead guitar and vocals), Walter Hanna (keyboards), Bill Britt (bass and vocals) and Jewell Hendricks (drums). Forget the vapid title cut. Glimmer Glimmer Sunshine epitomizes the 60's garage rock sound with wild fuzzy surf guitars and a wild abandon.
