Thank you for viewing my listings. On this site, I have decided to list records that are at least excellent\excellent plus condition only All of the records will be play tested at loud volume prior to listing on a top system. I will describe the audio quality as honest as possible and as I hear it. I will be listing some of the albums I have decided to part with here on ebay as well as on my bluesvinyl4u website, while the majority of my albums are blues related from all eras. A stunning original 1st (Mono) 1967 pressing ‘OPEN’. The audio is stunning crystal clear and very vibrant throughout. Very rare to find like this, even more rare is the awesome condition of the very fragile cover, normally seen in a terrible state this is at least excellent plus in my opinion. The vinyl visually looks like it has barely ever been played in my personal opinion, very few spider marks although there is some very light surface scuffs certainly nothing that detract from the awesome audio experience that I heard! This was crystal clear and very vibrant throughout without the usual background crackle so often heard on these 43 year old vinyl records. Top Audio that I have graded at a minimum of excellent plus probably much better!
Brian Auger (born 18 July 1939, Bihar, India), is a jazz and rock keyboardist, who has specialised in playing the Hammond organ!!.A jazz pianist, bandleader, session musician and Hammond B3 player, Auger has played or toured with artists such as Rod Stewart, Tony Williams, Jimi Hendrix, Sonny Boy Williamson, Led Zeppelin, Eric Burdon and others. He has incorporated jazz, early British pop, R&B, soul music and rock, and he has been nominated for a Grammy
In 1965 Auger formed the group The Steampacket, along with Long John Baldry, Julie Driscoll, Vic Briggs and Rod Stewart. With Driscoll and the band, Trinity, he went on to record several hit singles, notably a cover version of David Ackles' "Road to Cairo" and Bob Dylan's "This Wheel's on Fire", which was featured on Dylan Covered. In 1969 Auger, Driscoll and Trinity appeared performing on the national telecast of "33? Revolutions Per Monkee"
In 1970 he formed Brian Auger's Oblivion Express, shortly after abandoning the abortive "Wassenaar Arrangement" jazz-fusion commune in a small suburb of The Hague. The Oblivion Express served to cultivate several musicians, including future The Average White Band drummers Robbie McIntosh and Steve Ferrone, as well as guitarist Jim Mullen. Likewise, in 1971 he produced and appeared on Mogul Thrash's only album. Two members of that band, Roger Ball and Malcolm Duncan, would also go on to form the Average White Band.
Auger toured with blues rocker Eric Burdon in the early 1990s, and recorded the live album Access All Areas with him in 1993. After several projects, including albums with family members, he reformed the Oblivion Express in the late 1990s, with a line-up that eventually featured both his son and daughter.
The Oblivion Express was revived with a 2005 recording and subsequent touring. The group featured Brian Auger, his son Karma Auger on drums, his daughter Savannah Auger on vocals, and Derek Frank on bass
Since the 1970s Driscoll has concentrated on experimental vocal music, married jazz musician Keith Tippett and collaborated with him. She participated in Keith Tippett's big band Centipede and, in 1974, took part in Robert Wyatt’s Theatre Royal Drury Lane concert; released a solo album, Sunset Glow in 1975; and was lead vocalist on Carla Bley’s album Tropic Appetites and in John Wolf Brennan’s “HeXtet".
Later in the 1970s she toured with her own band, and recorded and performed as one of the vocal quartet 'Voice', with Maggie Nichols, Phil Minton and Brian Eley.

The Vinyl
This is the very thick and chunky original type of vinyl only found on the earliest pressings! The vinyl lays perfectly flat on the turntable. Visually retains its sheen from new! In strong light some very light surface scuffs can possibly be seen which seem to have no noticeable effect on the audio that I could hear.
The Audio quality
I have played this vinyl on a top system at very loud volume on a top system track for track. The first important thing to note, is that there is absolutely (no) distortion or signs that this has been overplayed what so ever! Very rare to find like this! The audio is crystal clear aloud and vibrant throughout indeed! I heard (no) loud clicks or pops even during the very quiet places any static/dust noise is very minimal indeed. This plays without distortion very clear and vibrant even between tracks very quiet indeed! Unbelievably rare to find like this after 42 years! A superb playable and most enjoyable copy. I would grade the audio as easily excellent plus, probably better.
Please note! I always add this disclaimer! Please allow for the odd light static/dust tick (not) consistent throughout the audio. Please remember that this is a genuine 43 year old vinyl that would have been played on a 43 year old system!
The Labels
These are the original 1st (textured) ''Marmalade' labels in awesome condition no real wear at all in fact there is only bare minimal spidering this hasn't been played a lot in my personal opinion.
The Cover
This is the original unlaminated 'MacNeil Press Ltd' printed cover very strong and straight! These are so hard to find in this awesome condition. No major creases at all very strong and straight with very minor storage wear, no splits or tears. This must grade at as excellent plus amazing to find this fragile cover in such great condition.
THIS ALBUM WILL BE SENT IN A LARGE BOX WITH CARDBOARD STIFFENERS THE VINYL AND COVER WILL BE INSERTED SEPARATELY IN POLY SLEEVES AND WRAPPED WITH PLENTY OF BUBBLEWRAP FOR ADDED PROTECTION.
