Julian Jay Savarin : Waiters On The Dance A1/B1 1st Press + Insert
This genuine first pressing from 1971 plays with a sonic quality that is stunning to say the least.  It is of course a very rare album (even more rare with the original insert) but surely its rarity value is enhanced with audio as immaculate as this.  The clarity, depth and power of the audio on both sides is outstanding and it is a FINAL UPGRADE archive pressing for sure.  It was only released in very limited numbers and there cannot be many today as pristine as this.  I cannot stress enough just how impressive the audio is but 'as new' about sums it up perfectly.  A bold statement to make but one I am confident in saying.  A true rarity that plays with exceptional sonic quality throughout.  The vinyl is also visually stunning with barely any spindle wear and has clearly hardly ever been played.
The textured cover is in excellent condition with only minimal wear and the original insert, with a review of the book of same name (Waiters On The Dance), is in perfect condition.  The inner sleeve has no side splits or tears and remains in excellent order also.
This is of course the second album released by Julian Jay Savarin but the first without his original band name Julian's Treatment.

Visual grading
The vinyl is a work of art!  It is in beautiful condition and still has an immaculate jet-black glossy sheen with no scratches.  There are only a handful of very faint sleeve removal hairlines - S1 is stunning and S2 is near that with only one small hairline that is a little more obvious (but still faint) on the final track and a handful of very faint 'specks' near it which have no impact on the stunning quality of the audio.  The Birth labels are unmarked and have only a couple of very small spindle traces on each side.  A stunning vinyl!
Play grading
The quiet intro on 'Child Of The Night' plays beautifully with barely any static and as the volume increases there is no let up in quality.  The organ section just prior to the first vocal is 'as new' and Lady JoMeek's opening vocal is also 'crystal clear' with no intrusion.  The following instrumental plays with stunning clarity and power and it continues in the same precise way through every section.  The sonic quality is just incredible - such a rare prog album and yet this is one that has hardly ever been played that much is obvious.  The final vocal is again faultless and you would not believe just how well all the quieter sections play.  No clicks, pops and only a couple of dust ticks.  The powerful end section has no distortion and this classic track plays to an exceptional standard with no interference.  Mint- is a genuine and honest reflection of the audio.
'Stranger' more than keeps up the good work and plays with impeccable quality from the first note to the last.  No need for a minus here this is Mint in every way.
The intro on 'The Death Of Alda' is faultless and then the brief silent section is totally silent!  That shows just how impressive the clarity is here.  The first vocal plays to perfection and then the typically proggy section plays as good as the day it was first released in '71.  The closing vocal has no 'background' although there is perhaps just a minor touch of inner groove distortion on the final 2/3 lines.  So minimal and hardly deserves a mention but let's say Mint- just to be cautious!
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The very quiet intro on 'The Dance Of The Golden Flamingoes' plays with stunning quality, just one barely audible dust tick, and it proceeds to play with a clarity of sound that defies the age of the album.  As my regulars know I do not 'over-grade' my listings as it is in nobody's interests to do so (see my feedback!) and I can confidently say the entire 9 minutes of this classic instrumental play with a sonic quality that is STUNNING in every way.  Even the super quiet mid section has no 'background' and the following 'high octane' passage is so strong and powerful also with no distortion.  The remainder does not let the side down either.  I don't want to repeat myself but the audio quality here is just jaw-droppingly breathtakingly amazing!  Every section plays to the highest standard possible and that includes every quiet/silent section.  I am 100% confident in grading this as Mint it just could not play any better.
The bass intro on 'Cycles' plays perfectly and the opening vocal is just as impressive with just one very quiet and dull sound during the first chorus, you could easily miss it.  From then onwards it plays as per the rest of the album a clarity, depth and warmth that cannot be faulted.  There is clarity and then there is clarity like we have here.  I do not intend to over-enthuse but it is just so rare to find sonic quality of this type on such a rare album.  Mint-
The spoken intro on 'Soldiers Of Time' is nigh on perfect with only a couple of barely audible background 'sounds' and Jo Meek's vocal is then so clear through every verse and chorus.  A hint of inner groove distortion?  Perhaps but so minimal and just what you would expect on a vinyl as you reach the final few grooves and should not be downgraded as such.  A stunning version and again Mint- is deserved.
In summary this incredibly rare and very collectable album plays with STUNNING quality on both sides with no interference.  Hard to believe I know but that is the honest truth!  The clarity and definition of the audio could not be any more impressive and there cannot be many first pressings around today as immaculate as this.  It was of course only pressed in very limited numbers hence the rarity and not surprisingly this is the first one I have ever sold.  Probably the last that's how rare it is!  It is without doubt a FINAL UPGRADE time warp classic and has been beautifully well preserved over the last 50+ years.  There is some conjecture as to when it was in fact first released but 1971 seems to be the year most associate with it now as opposed to 1973.  It does have that 'sound' of '71 that's for sure.  I do not want to over-sell it but it easily one of the finest records I have ever sold from that era.  Not one click or pop - in essence no interference at all.  Rare is a word too often used in the vinyl 'world' but it certainly applies here.  What an album!
The Cover, Insert & Inner Sleeve
The textured cover is in excellent condition with only minimal shelf wear.  The edges have only a little rubbing and the spine is very clean and remains 100% legible.  All four corners are also in excellent order with only very minimal wear and the opening edge is in superb condition with barely any wear.  The front cover is very clean with only minimal fading and a couple of very small faint marks near the bottom edge.  The back cover has only minimal ringwear and a couple of minor near the bottom right corner.  A fine example overall.
The original 'It' insert is in fantastic condition with no marking and no obvious creasing.  The original die-cut plain white inner is also in excellent order with only light creasing and very minimal age related fading around the edges.  It has the Patent No 1,125,555 and Made In England printed on one side.
