Beautiful copy of the rare original 78rpm issue of Josh White's Strange Fruit album on Mercury 3 78 album 48. Later issued on LP, this is the original, probably released around 1948. This album was largely responsible for popularizing several standard folk songs such as House of the Rising Sun and the Riddle Song. All three discs are very nearly perfectly mint and play completely flawlessly. A couple of very very minuscule scuffs, maybe, but barely at all. These are top discs. The cover has a touch of water staining, as you can see in the photos. But the binding is still perfect, the spine untorn and readable, and generally well-cared-for. A simply lovely copy, and very rare on 78.
