PRESSED ON QUALITY HEAVYWEIGHT VINYL (first issues only) WITH DEEP CUT GROOVES WHICH DELIVER ABSOLUTELY SENSATIONAL, CRISP, CLEAN, RICH AUDIO, THE LP HAS THE FIRST TAN REPRISE LABELS (no WB logo - the WB logo appears on all Reprise/Atlantic pressings from 1975 onwards), WITH THE FIRST PRESS MATRIX: K 44128 A1 / K 44128 B1 AND IS HOUSED IN THE ORIGINAL OUTER TEXTURED GATEFOLD SLEEVE WITH FACTORY SEALED LEFT SIDE EDGE, "Printed and made by MacNeill Press Ltd., London, S.E.1" WITH INTERNALLY PRINTED LYRICS AND COMPLETE WITH THE ORIGINAL, CUSTOM MADE FOR THIS ISSUE, BLUE INNER SLEEVE

A TREMENDOUS COPY OF A STUNNING, BEAUTIFUL AND ESSENTIAL LP

Sad, spare, and beautiful, Blue is the quintessential confessional singer/songwriter album. Forthright and poetic, Joni Mitchell's songs are raw nerves, tales of love and loss (two words with relative meaning here) etched with stunning complexity; even tracks like "All I Want," "My Old Man," and "Carey" -- the brightest, most hopeful moments on the record -- are darkened by bittersweet moments of sorrow and loneliness. At the same time that songs like "Little Green" (about a child given up for adoption) and the title cut (a hymn to salvation supposedly penned for James Taylor) raise the stakes of confessional folk-pop to new levels of honesty and openness, Mitchell's music moves beyond the constraints of acoustic folk into more intricate and diverse territory, setting the stage for the experimentation of her later work. Unrivaled in its intensity and insight, Blue remains a watershed.

LABELS: The labels are in SUPERB condition - CLEAN and BRIGHT with NO wear, NO writing and barely any spindle marks. This copy has hardly ever been played!!!
VINYL Visual: The record lies perfectly flat on the turntable and both surfaces have their original DEEP, LIKE-NEW, GLOSSY SHEEN. The surfaces are practically UNMARKED
VINYL Audio: OUTSTANDING audio delivery - CRYSTAL CLEAR, RICH and SHARP. There are NO scratches, NO jumps, NO sticks, NO clicks/pops and NO surface noise - truly OUTSTANDING and very rare for an original pressing of this LP. The album plays to an extremely high standard with SUPERB AUDIO CLARITY, NO groove-wear and NO distortion. Must be very critically graded NEAR MINT for audio as the playback is virtually FLAWLESS and NOT over-graded in ANY way as I use STRICT RECORD COLLECTOR grading standards (please refer to my feedback and 'about me' page)
SLEEVE: The original TEXTURED cover is also in BEAUTIFUL condition. One of the best example of this easily worn sleeve. There is some very light (very minor) surface rubbing to the back of the sleeve (see pics) and some light corner 'bumping' again, overall, very minor and the whole sleeve is CLEAN, SHARP and FRESH. YOU WOULD BE HARD PRESSED TO LOCATE A FINER FIRST ISSUE SLEEVE
INNER SLEEVE: The Blue Inner Sleeve, specially designed for this release, is in GREAT condition with NO splits, just some light handing wear. The vinyl is now housed in a new inner sleeve - and will be posted to you in this sleeve - to avoid any 'knifing' damage to the original during transit
