Papolious Jones is the project of DJ and musician Brian Topham and loose, lived in grooves are the order of the day on this second outing from DJ Serviced Records. Jones draws directly from his live sets, letting spontaneity steer the arrangements here so the tracks feel unforced, built on rolling rhythms and warm, soulful touches. There is a sense of conversation within the music on 'A Long, Long Time Ago' with forlorn keys and more bubbly synth sequences over a tight groove. 'Don't Stop Believin'' is like a sad take on early Daft Punk, 'Dreamin' In Sevens & Three' stretches out with cosmic infinity and languid acid undulations and 'Musings Of A Wandering Mind' kicks on with lush broken beats and muted 80s synth glows that unhinge you from the everyday.
