Description

JOHNNY DEMON and THE DEVILS 7” RARE OZ punk

Shut Your Mouth b/w You Make Me Spew (1980)

Johnny Demon and The Devils – Shut Your Mouth 7” (orig. Australia STEREO EMI Custom PRS28541980)

Release date: April 1980.

On offer here is an ULTRA RARE original issue of the “Shut Your Mouth“ 7” single by SYDNEY PUNK BAND JOHNNY DEMON and THE DEVILS.  There were ONLY 200 COPIES pressed back in the day, but most of these are long gone.

Musically, we’re talking brash in-your-face high-energy punk rock, which takes the piss out of a number of Aussie (and International) icons.  Some have described the band as a punk version of AC/DC, which is not far from the mark.  “NRC” (not recommended for children) is printed on each label for good reason - the language is highly offensive, especially on “You Make Me Spew“.  A genuinely obscure Aussie punk rock relic that hardly ever turns up!

The members of this band have always been shrouded in mystery.  The songwriting credits go to “Brother John”, and the recordings were taken from their “THUMBS UP” Tour 1980.
