Description

Artist: Johnny Burnette and the Rock 'n Roll Trio
Title: Johnny Burnette and the Rock 'n Roll Trio
Label/Cat #: Coral CRL 57080
Year: 1956

Condition vinyl (visual): VG- both sides show typical wear for a copy of this record that was played but not to death. If you're familiar with Coral-era vinyl of this era you know that these discs are durable and still play great even with some visual negatives. That's the case here. In addition to the surface marks none of which are "feelable" under a finger test, there's a "haze" about the vinyl that is also common for this kind of early pressing - again, not deleterious to playback. I would grade the playback of the record at somewhere between VG and VG+. Hear for yourself, the complete album in two side-long clips:

HEAR FULL LENGTH CLIPS OF SIDE 1
HEAR FULL LENGTH CLIPS OF SIDE 2

Condition cover: EX this is a fantastic well kept example of the iconic jacket. Displays NO ring wear, splits, tears, or writing. The edges are 9.5/10 all around with the corners about a 9 showing the most minimal of wear. Most importantly, adding provenance to this as a TRUE 1st PRESSING are the "Printed in U.S.A." credits on both the front and back sides as seen in the pictures as well as the spine credits shown in its own separate picture. This is the real deal!
Comments: Original '56 press of this rockabilly monster, basically birthing the "sound" that would embody the meanest nastiest most depraved rock 'n rollers of the genres early days. Both matrix numbers are MACHINE STAMPED in the deadwax and read as follows (also see pictures):

Side 1: MG5032T1
Side 2: MG5033T2

The maroon and silver deep groove labels are in nice shape exhibiting only minor spindle wear considering their age and again speak to the used but not abused quality of this piece.

Thank you for looking and reading, good luck if you are bidding and BE AWARE!!! I am also auctioning ALL FIVE ORIGINAL ELVIS SUN 45S this week giving buyers an opportunity at some of the most historically important rock 'n' roll records to come out of that formative 1954-56 period when hepped up young men like Elvis and Burnette shook America out of its slumber with their provocative new takes on popular music - so check my other auctions to look at, read about and hear these great pieces of music history!

Grading: I grade conservatively on a scale of NM, EX, VG+, VG, VG-, G.
