Johnny Burnette - Johnny Burnette & The Rock 'N' Roll Trio

(Vogue Coral LVC 10041 UK 10" LP 1956)

This is a 1956 UK 1st Pressing 10" LP n very reasonable overall condition! This is one of the rarest UK Rock 'N' Roll/ Rockabilly releases from the golden 1950's period. This 10" LP is exceptionally rare! It seldom turns up for sale.

This 10" LP has a heavyweight fully laminated sleeve. This has an extremely thin spine. The spine text is printed on the rear sleeve - right next to the spine. There is a flipback along the top & bottom edges of the rear sleeve. These have a rounded die-cut centre area. The sleeve has printing date printed on the bottom flipback (HD 56/12). This means that this sleeve was printed in the UK in December 1956.

This LP comes with its original plain polythene inner sleeve. The 10" LP is pressed on thick vinyl & has black and silver "Vogue Coral" labels. The record has 1st press MG-5032-1B and MG-5033-1B matrix numbers. These are machine stamped twice, right next to each other, in the dead wax. The mother stampers are "C 1" and "U 1" respectively. There is a crossed out "C" under the "U" mother stamper on Side 2. There is an "RT" tax code machine stamped in the dead wax on both sides too.

This is a genuine UK 10" LP 1st pressing. These, as stated, are exceptionally rare. This copy has a 1956 printing date on the rear sleeve. The record has the earliest matrix numbers and mother stampers too. A classic Rock 'n' Roll/ Rockabilly LP too. One of the best in the genre! Don't miss out!

Sleeve: There is a small 2 cm area of more moderate rubbing wear at the centre of the bottom edge of front sleeve (see photo). There is mild to more moderate rubbing wear to the corner tips. There are three mild or very mild hairline creases at the top corner tip area at the sleeve opening. These go through the sleeve to a varying degree. They measure 4.5 cm to 7 cm in length.

There is a mild 8 cm hairline crease at the corner tip area at the bottom sleeve spine area. This goes through the sleeve to a varying degree. There is a very mild 4.5 cm hairline crease at the bottom corner tip area at the sleeve opening. This, again, goes through the sleeve to a varying degree. There is a pin-head sized area of more moderate rubbing wear on the front sleeve.

There are two small areas of laminate peeling at the front sleeve opening area. One is fingertip sized, the other is thumb-tip sized. There is some mild, very mild or more moderate rubbing wear on the sleeve opening edges. There is a very small 1 cm area of more moderate rubbing wear on the bottom flipback. This is at the top edge at the centre. There are about 5 small & light (0.5 cm to 1 cm) hairline creases at the spine area. Otherwise, the spine is in very nice condition. There is some mild, very mild or more moderate ringwear on some areas. Overall, this sleeve is in Very Good condition. This sleeve is very prone to wear & almost impossible to find in perfect condition. This is a clean and tidy copy overall. There are no tears or seam splits.

Vinyl: There is a mild 3 cm hairline surface mark toward the end of Side 1. There is a very light 6.5 cm hairline surface mark across Side 1. This is hardly visible under a strong light. There are about 8 to 10 light, mild or very mild hairline surface marks on Side 2. These measure from 2 cm to 5 cm in length. Some of these are hardly visible under a strong light. Otherwise, there are some light, mild, very mild or more moderate surface sleeve rubs which can only be seen under a strong light. Side 1 is in a strong Very Good condition. Side 2 is in Good+ condition. Overall, the vinyl is in Good++ condition. Very close to being in Very Good condition.

The Labels are in Near Excellent condition and show mild to more moderate spindle wear only.

The original company plain polythene inner sleeve is in Good condition. There is a 10 cm seam split at one side edge. There is an 8 cm seam split at the other side edge. There is mild, very mild or more moderate ringwear & creasing.

I have play tested this 10" LP in its entirety & it plays Very Good to Very Good+ overall, & Near Excellent in some places. There is some light, mild or very mild crackle noticeable in some quieter places. There are no noticeable clicks or pops. Overall, a very reasonable audio copy.

I shall place the vinyl into a separate inner sleeve. This will protect the original inner sleeve from any damage during the shipping process.

Traceable insurance is already included in the stated P&P price for this listing.

Discount is given on P&P for multiple purchases. I shall always weigh combined purchases to get a completely accurate price.  So please wait for the invoice to be sent before paying. Please see below for a more detailed description.

  >>  Grading Information All grading is very strict & adheres to 'Record Collector' specifications. However, I have fine tuned them & they are explained below. All vinyl is examined closely under a strong light & play tested.

MINT Condition = A perfect copy! Almost impossible to find like this.

NEAR MINT Condition = Very nearly mint just slightly under, There may be a very few, very light paper surface sleeve rubs that can hardly be seen under strong light. This disc has been played a couple of times at most. The sleeve is virtually perfect - there is very minimal wear only.

EXCELLENT Condition = A clean & tidy copy that shows minimal defects. There will be light, very mild or very minor surface sleeve rubs. There will be no scratches. The cover will be very nice & clean with maybe minimal creasing, ringwear or edge rubbing wear etc...

NEAR EXCELLENT Condition = You can tell this record has been played a few times, but it has been well cared for. There will be minor surface marks only. The sleeve may have light, mild or very mild creasing, ringwear & very mild rubbing wear to the edges etc.... Overall, it will be a very serviceable copy that you will be pleased with.

Very Good Condition = A well played but very decent overall copy. There will be a few marks on the vinyl, but they won't be nasty scratches, just relatively light needle scuffs and sleeve removal marks, they will be noticeable but won't detract from play too much. Cover will show signs of storage/ ageing, e.g., creasing, slight folding, spinewear, ringwear or sticker tears etc... The record will not be trashed!!

Please note that I also use "+" or "-" symbols for this grading. A plus symbol is obviously at the top end of "Very Good" & is really not far from being in "near excellent" condition. The minus symbol obviously means it is at the lower end. This will mean that it is near to being in "Good+" condition.
>>  Postage Rates

AN INVOICE WILL BE SENT TO YOU VERY SOON AFTER THE AUCTION ENDS. PLEASE WAIT FOR THIS BEFORE PAYING.

(Please note that these prices include packaging costs too)
Double LPs are classed as two LPs. Also gatefold sleeves, posters, inserts, etc.. can increase postage costs.

Please note that there are now VAT import charges from the UK into all EU countries. Anything under 150 Euros will need an IOSS number. VAT is paid at point of sale. For any items over 150 Euros in value. There will be a customs charge too. These vary, I believe, from country to country. Please check your relevant postal service online for details. Please note that these charges are beyond my control and are the law for outside parcels going into the EU.

All records will be sent in high quality vinyl box/ mailers with at least two card stiffeners either side of the LP or 7" Single. I use a cruciform box for larger orders (3-6 LPs). All parcels will be marked "Fragile" and dispatch time will generally be between 1-3 days after payment.

I will also remove the vinyl from the sleeve & place them in a re-sealable polythene sleeve. In order to prevent seam splits. Depending on the inner sleeve; I often remove the vinyl from the inner sleeve & place it in a separate plain paper, or polythene-lined, plain inner sleeve. I am very conscientious and careful when packaging your LP(s).

I consider my postage & packaging costs to be very transparent & very fair. Packaging costs will generally be between £0.80 to £1.50. I am not adding any further costs for handling, etc...

If you are uncertain about any of the above, or just simply want some information regarding any item, please do not hesitate to contact me. I welcome any questions.

Remember to check out My Other Items Lots of rare & quality vinyl! Most are UK 1st Pressings. It is quite likely that there will be more records by this artist, or records in a similar vein.
