This auction is for a "MONSTER MASH FEATURING JOHN ZACHERLE" AUTOGRAPHED VINYL RECORD ALBUM.
The initial album release was on Cameo-Parkway Records in 1962. This is the later release on Wyncote Records in 1964, catalogue number SW-9050 - STEREO. However, the record labels on this copy state that this is a mono copy, W-9050 (pics #18 & #20 show both labels). I play-tested the entire album, and it is in STEREO.
Zacherle passed away in October of 2016. For years, he would appear at the annual Chiller Theatre Expo, held a couple times a year in New Jersey. I checked my notes, and I met Zacherle in 2008, 2013, and 2015...so this autograph can be from any one of those years.
The inscription reads "We all remember the amoeba and Zacherle" (photos #7 - 8 - 9). At least I believe the word above his name is "and". If you've ever seen clips from his horror-host days, you'll know that he had a pet amoeba (I believe made of Jell-O and spaghetti tied up in cheesecloth and named Thelma). Hence the inscription.
The vinyl record album is in VERY GOOD+ condition. As I said, I listened to the entire record. There as some very low tics that can be heard throughout, but nothing that will be troublesome. A handful of light scratches can be seen (pics #21 & #22), but they do not affect playback.
The cover is in GOOD condition. On the front cover, you can see a little shelf wear on the word "Monster" (photo #2). Each of the corners have some wear and snubbing (photographs #3 - 4 - 5 - 6). The slick has lifted off the cover slightly on the top and bottom left corners (pictures #3 & #6). There is wear on the left side of the top seam (photo #15). There is a five inch long seam split on the right side of the top seam (pic #16). The back cover has some very light ring and shelf wear. Picture #13 shows some small creases along the closed edge.
