HOLY GRAIL TIME! Up for grabs here is the original first issue with 4-prong centre (unfortunately popped out though!) of this legendary 45 by John Mayall and Eric Clapton from 1966 released on Mike Vernon's Purdah label. It was only pressed in 99 copies to avoid having to pay tax for the release. It is extremely hard to find and seldom turns up for sale. Have a listen below! NOTE that this 45 has got a heat warp at the edge of the record, it does however play without any problems with very light weight on the stylus (I use 1,5 grams).
Also, let's get this straight. A lot of people don't know or forget to mention that there are TWO DIFFERENT PRESSINGS of this 45. The first pressing was, like all other Purdah label 45's, pressed in 99 copies and had a 4-prong centre in the middle of the record (again, like all other original Purdah label 45's). A second pressing was at some later point made with a 3-prong centre, I'm not sure in how many copies but a figure of 500 copies has been reported and this is the one that usually turns up, often in M- or very clean condition.
Now, go take a look at sites like Popsike, Collectorsfrenzy etc. and see how many copies with a 3-prong centre vs. one with a 4-prong centre you can find. I've counted them and during the 8 last years: 5 copies of the 4-prong centred one has gone through eBay, but 16 copies of the 3-prong centred issue has sold. That alone is an indication that the 4-prong centred issue is MUCH RARER than the 3-prong centred issue.

Vinyl condition: VG- (LOTS of very light scratches and a heat warp at the edge of the record which I've written about above, plays with some clicks but overall a very enjoyable listen, check out the soundclip!)
